According to studies conducted by the Department of the Family, there are 2,535 homeless people in Puerto Rico. This population is one of the most vulnerable to the Covid-19 pandemic. The government of Puerto Rico has done very little to address the needs of this population. We spoke with Johanna Dominguez, who works with the homeless. She is an addiction counselor and case manager for Albergue El Paraíso. Johanna is also an activist and part of the Papel Machete collective.
