Set on Fat Tuesday, this farce deals with a group of performers who take over the “lotería”/bingo style participatory game show, after they murder of the main actor, a chauvinistic exploiting entrepreneur who promotes picking yourself up by the bootstraps in the face of crisis.
It is an absurd play, a metaphor of the colonial status of Puerto Rico in current times. The characters are all masked and highly choreographed movements and music are used in this 60 minute play, created by papel Machete. The ambitious show was only performed twice due to the death of one of our main actors and group members.
