February 2025 Newsletter: Leonard Peltier is Coming Home!

On his last day, former US President, Joe Biden, granted Leonard Peltier executive clemency and commuted the remainder of his sentence to home confinement. Leonard Peltier is an Indigenous political prisoner convicted of killing two FBI agents on Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota in 1975, while being an active militant of the American Indian Movement (AIM). Throughout all those years in prison, Peltier claimed his innocence. A strong movement fighting for his liberation has been built leading to this day.

En su último día, el ex presidente de Estados Unidos, Joe Biden, concedió a Leonard Peltier clemencia ejecutiva y conmutó el resto de su condena por reclusión domiciliaria. Leonard Peltier es un preso político indígena condenado por matar a dos agentes del FBI en la reserva de Pine Ridge, Dakota del Sur, en 1975, cuando militaba activamente en el Movimiento Indio Americano (AIM). Durante todos esos años en prisión, Peltier reivindicó su inocencia. Hasta el día de hoy se ha creado un fuerte movimiento que lucha por su liberación.
